Abstract

In the present study, a dedicated damper has been developed to significantly reduce the substantial recoil generated by the detonation of the mortar’s main charge. This enables the gunner of the artillery system to perform instrument calibration checks less frequently, which in turn contributes to more efficient mortar fire control.
