Abstract

The main elements of electromagnetic protection (EP) such as ensuring electromagnetic compatibility measures, communication equipment protection measures, electromagnetic radiation management, preventive countermeasures against enemy radio intelligence have been examined. A definition, basic terms and the architecture of software-defined radio (SDR) have been given. SDR implementation possibilities at electromagnetic protection of military communication systems have been considered. The paper also includes a GNU Radio proof-of-concept simulation of SDR-based spatial signal analysis and discusses practical coherence challenges when moving from simulation to a multi-device SDR implementation.
